For many students, the ability to earn an income while building a qualification is not a preference it is a necessity. Career Campus is designed with this reality in mind.

Here is exactly how working while studying works within the Career Campus model.

How It Works

Students who join the Career Campus affiliated firm after completing Level 1 can study Level 2 the Advanced Australian Taxation program while working in an entry-level role at the same time.

This means you are not choosing between earning now and building your career for the future. Both happen simultaneously.

What You Are Doing at Each Stage

At Level 1, you study the Professional Australian Taxation program. This is the foundational stage, covering Australian tax theory, individual tax returns, practical tax return preparation, and industry tax software training. Level 1 runs for twelve months and culminates in assessed theory, practical case work, and software-based tasks.

After completing Level 1, students who join the firm enter employment at an indicative entry-level salary of LKR 85,000 per month. At this point, you are working as a Tax Assistant in a real Australian taxation environment.

While working, you study Level 2 the Advanced Australian Taxation program covering advanced business tax, compliance and lodgment skills, and advanced software usage. As your skills develop through Level 2, you progress into higher roles with higher pay.

Why This Model Matters

The earn-while-you-learn model at Career Campus removes one of the biggest barriers to professional development: the financial cost of not working while you study.

Most professional training programs require students to choose: study full-time and delay earning, or work full-time and delay studying. Career Campus removes that choice for students who join the firm after Level 1.

This is also how skills are best developed. Working in a real Australian taxation environment while studying advanced content means the theory you are learning in Level 2 is immediately reinforced by what you are doing on the job every day. The learning and the practice happen together, which accelerates both.

Progression Into Higher Roles

As students develop their skills through Level 2, Career Campus supports progression into higher roles within the firm. This is not a static arrangement where you stay at entry level while you study it is a deliberate progression pathway where growing skills translate into growing responsibility and growing pay.

The indicative salary at Level 2 completion is LKR 250,000 per month, reflecting the significantly higher skill level and the more complex work that comes with it.

An Important Note

The work-while-studying model applies to students who join the Career Campus affiliated firm. It is structured around the firm’s operational requirements and the student’s academic progress through Level 2.

For students who do not join the firm, Level 2 is still available as a standalone study pathway. Speak with the Career Campus admissions team for the arrangement that best fits your situation.
